Low Scale Inflation and the Immediate Heavy Curvaton Decay

چکیده

The end of a thermal inflation era, driven by the rolling of a flaton field coupled to the curvaton, cause a huge increment in the curvaton mass and decay rate while the curvaton is still frozen. It is shown that, if this increment is enough for the curvaton to immediately decay, low scale inflation with Hubble parameter H∗ ∼ 10 GeV is achieved for more natural values of the flaton-curvaton coupling constant λ (10 ∼ λ < ∼ 10 ) and the curvaton bare mass mσ (mσ ∼ 1 GeV).

Curvaton scenario with low scale inflation revisited

In its simplest form the curvaton paradigm requires the Hubble parameter during inflation to be bigger than 10GeV, but this bound may be evaded in non-standard settings. In the heavy curvaton scenario the curvaton mass increases significantly after the end of inflation. We reanalyze the bound in this set up, taking into account the upper bound on the curvaton mass from direct decay. We obtain H...

Se p 20 05 The Origin of the Large - Scale Structure in the Universe : Theoretical and Statistical Aspects

We review some theoretical and statistical aspects of the origin of the large-scale structure in the Universe, in view of the two most widely known and accepted scenarios: the inflaton scenario (primordial curvature perturbation ζ generated by the quantum fluctuations of the light scalar field φ that drives inflation, named the inflaton), and the curvaton scenario (ζ generated by the quantum fl...

The cosmological curvature perturbation may be generated when some ‘curvaton’ field, different from the inflaton, oscillates in a background of unperturbed radiation. In its simplest form the curvaton paradigm requires the Hubble parameter during inflation to be bigger than 10 GeV, but this bound may be evaded if the curvaton field (or an associated tachyon) is strongly coupled to a field which...

Curvaton Potential Terms, Scale-Dependent Perturbation Spectra and Chaotic Initial Conditions

The curvaton scenario predicts an almost scale-invariant spectrum of perturbations in most inflation models. We consider the possibility that renormalisable φ4 or Planck scale-suppressed non-renormalisable curvaton potential terms may result in an observable deviation from scale-invariance. We show that if the curvaton initially has a large amplitude and if the total number of e-foldings of inf...

The curvaton as a Bose-Einstein condensate of chiral pseudo Nambu-Goldstone bosons

Explaining cosmic inflation by the effective dynamics of an SU(NC) pure gauge theory of scale Λ ∼ 10−6 Mp is lacking an explanation of the (Gaussian) spatial curvature perturbations needed to seed the formation of large-scale structure after inflation. In this work it is demonstrated how fundamentally charged fermions of mass mF ∼ 10−12 Λ, whose approximate chiral symmetry is spontaneously brok...
